Oregon men’s golf senior Aiden Krafft shot a 5-under-par 65 on Apr. 14 during the second round of the 79th Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, California. The round matched his career low and is tied for the second-lowest individual score of this year’s tournament.

Krafft’s performance featured two eagles and five birdies, including a standout front nine where he recorded a 6-under-par score of 29. This strong showing helped him move up 36 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for eighth place at three under par heading into Wednesday’s final round.

“I was hitting my irons really close and I was making the putts that I needed to on the front,” Krafft said. “My driver was solid too and it was just a good front nine overall. That’s my best, 29, so that was pretty cool.”

The Oregon team improved its overall standing with a second-round total of four-over-par (354), six strokes better than their opening round. The Ducks are currently ninth in the field at fourteen over par as they prepare for Wednesday’s conclusion to stroke play. USC leads both the team standings at sixteen under par and has Jack Buchanan atop the individual leaderboard at eleven under.

Other notable performances from Oregon included Ramil Saelim’s one-over-par (71), Sebastian Desoisa and Casper Nerpin each posting two-over (72), while Jeffrey Kwak added a four-over (74). Oscar Lent also carded an eagle while playing as an individual competitor.

The tournament will wrap up with live coverage on Golf Channel beginning at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
