The Armitage Park dog park will temporarily close starting the week of March 9 for construction tied to the 2022 Lane County Parks Levy. The improvements are aimed at increasing safety and accessibility, including building a separate entrance for RVs so large vehicles will no longer travel through the dog park area.

Other planned upgrades include two covered pavilions, ADA-accessible pathways, new lighting, paving of the parking lot, and changes to improve vehicle circulation. Construction is expected to last about two months, with the dog park set to reopen by the end of May. Updates on progress will be shared on the Lane County Parks Levy Projects page.

While Armitage Dog Park is closed, local residents can visit other nearby dog parks such as Alton Baker Dog Park, Amazon Dog Park, Candlelight Park, Lone Oak Park, Jefferson Park, Morse Ranch Park, Willamalane Lively Dog Park, and Washington Jefferson Dog Park.

Lane County Parks stated: “Lane County Parks appreciates the community’s patience during construction and looks forward to reopening an improved dog park later this spring.”
