Kiara Romero became the first player in Oregon women’s golf history to be named a Women’s Golf Coaches Association first-team All-American for the third time, according to an announcement on June 2.

Romero, who was already the program’s only two-time, first-team All-American, received the honor for a third consecutive year following her junior season. Head coach Derek Radley has now coached seven players to 11 total All-America honors since taking over in 2018-19. Prior to Radley’s tenure, Oregon had three All-America honors between two players.

During her junior season, Romero set a new University of Oregon single-season record for scoring average for the third straight year with an average of 69.23 across 24 rounds of stroke play. This surpassed her previous mark of 69.91 from the 2023-24 season. She shot par or better in 21 out of 24 rounds and recorded scores in the 60s during 13 rounds. Romero finished under par in seven out of twelve spring rounds and claimed individual tournament victories at both the Chevron Collegiate and Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational.

In addition to her wins, Romero placed in the top three at seven out of eight tournaments as a junior and tied for third at the NCAA Waco Regional. She holds six career tournament wins—an all-time best at Oregon—and has finished in the top ten in twenty-two out of thirty events.

Over her collegiate career so far, Romero has played eighty-seven rounds with seventy-one being par or better and thirty-eight sub-70 performances. Her career scoring average stands at 70.06, which is on pace to break Briana Chacon’s current school record of 72.82. Additionally, she is tied for number three all-time with three hundred fifty-four birdies despite having played only three seasons.
