Oregon’s Kiara Romero won her second individual title of the season and set a program record with her sixth career victory on Mar. 24 at the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas. Romero shot a final-round 3-under 67 to finish five strokes ahead at Colonial Country Club.

Romero began the last round tied for first but pulled away by making four birdies and only one bogey. She now holds two more individual wins than any other player in Oregon history. Head coach Derek Radley said, “What can you say about Kiara Romero at this point? She’s the best player in college golf and the undisputed No. 1 amateur in the world. Every time she steps on the golf course you expect her to do something special and she just continues to deliver for this team time and time again. This was another awesome win for her and she did a great job once again of being a leader for the Ducks.”

The Oregon Ducks, ranked seventh nationally, recorded their best round of the week with a team score of 2-under 278, moving up two spots to finish as runner-up at 11-over par behind top-ranked Stanford (+8). The tournament featured thirteen teams, including several top-10 programs.

Oregon has now finished in the top five for twenty consecutive tournaments since early in the 2024-25 season and has placed among the top two thirty-four times since Radley became head coach during the 2018-19 season.

Radley said, “Really pleased with our team’s effort and performance this week. This was a very good field with a lot of teams that will be at the NCAA Championships later this spring. I thought we did a good job of battling through the 36-hole day yesterday and then did some really nice things out there today to move up and take second. We’re starting to figure out who we are as a team and I’m excited to see how we can continue to improve as the postseason gets closer.” The Ducks’ next event is scheduled for April 6-8 at Silverado Showdown in Napa, California.
