Lane County Housing and Community Action announced on Mar. 31 the launch of its 2026 Community Needs Survey, inviting residents to provide feedback on services such as housing, shelter, basic needs, education, employment, transportation, and health.

The survey is part of Lane County’s efforts to identify service gaps and improve programming for low-income families. The county is required to conduct this assessment every three years as a Community Action Agency. According to the announcement, community members—especially those with firsthand experience accessing these services—are encouraged to participate in the survey.

The survey takes about 10-15 minutes to complete and is available in both English and Spanish until May 16, 2026. It asks participants which service areas are most important to them and invites feedback on their experiences. The survey can be accessed at https://laneco.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cI0obhzfVaToCvY.

Lane County provides essential public services in areas such as public safety, health and elections according to the official website. Covering more than 4,600 square miles of varied terrain—including urban, suburban, rural and coastal landscapes—Lane County extends its services across western Oregon according to the official website. Lane County operates under a home rule structure designed to enhance public service delivery and quality of life for residents according to the official website.

As Lane County seeks input from residents through this triennial survey process, officials hope that responses will help shape future improvements in local programs supporting low-income families.
