Lyndsey Grein was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week on Apr. 13 after leading No. 15 Oregon to a road sweep over Maryland, according to an announcement from the conference.
This recognition marks Grein’s third career Big Ten honor and her first of the 2026 season. The senior pitcher from Mokena, Illinois, posted a record of three wins and no losses against Maryland over the weekend. She pitched a total of 15 innings with an earned run average (ERA) of 0.93, allowing only two runs on seven hits while striking out 25 batters and walking just two. During the series, she gave up only one extra base hit.
Grein contributed significantly in each game: On Friday, she struck out eight batters in four shutout innings during an 11-0 win; on Saturday, she threw four hitless relief innings with seven strikeouts as Oregon won in extra innings; and on Sunday, she recorded ten strikeouts in a complete game victory.
For the season so far, Grein holds a record of 21-4 and leads the Big Ten Conference in strikeouts (164), walks plus hits per inning pitched (WHIP) at 0.94, and opponent batting average (.173). She is also second in wins and third in ERA at 2.15.
The Ducks are scheduled to host No. 22 Washington for a three-game series beginning Friday at Jane Sanders Stadium.
