The Oregon acrobatics and tumbling team lost to Quinnipiac in the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) Semifinal on Apr. 24 at the Felix Event Center, with a final score of 260.990-256.010.

This result ends the Ducks’ postseason run after they held a narrow lead going into the final event, but Quinnipiac surged ahead in the team round to secure their spot in the championship for the first time since 2018.

Oregon finishes its season with a record of six wins and three losses, marking its fourth consecutive winning season and continuing a streak of earning at least one victory at each NCATA Championship during that period. Head coach Taylor Susnara said, “All in all, I am so proud of my student-athletes and what they put out on the floor today. It was a neck-and-neck battle. It feels good that we executed, but it’s hard that we are not moving on to the next day.”

The upcoming 2025–26 season will be significant for acrobatics & tumbling as it will be the last year before gaining official NCAA championship recognition, which comes sixteen years after the sport’s inception. Susnara said, “We are so happy to be a part of it. Founding members competing today is amazing. Proud to be an Oregon Duck through and through. Oregon is very special to be a part of, and there is a lot of pride today.” Both Oregon and Quinnipiac were among six programs that helped launch acrobatics & tumbling during its inaugural NCATA season in 2011.

During Friday’s meet, Oregon fell behind slightly in the Compulsory round but responded strongly in Acro events thanks to performances by Cassidy Cu and Angelica Martin. The Pyramid event remained close throughout halftime before Quinnipiac edged ahead later with higher scores in Toss and Tumbling events despite efforts from Morgan Willingham.

Event finals are scheduled for Sunday at 10 a.m., broadcast on ESPN+.
