The Oregon beach volleyball team ended its participation at the MPSF Mid-Season Rumble in Los Angeles with two losses, falling to fifth-ranked Texas and second-ranked UCLA. These results bring the Ducks’ season record to 5-8 after three weeks of play.

In their match against Texas, the Longhorns secured a 5-0 victory. Texas took early control by winning on courts two and four before clinching the dual with a win at No. 5 pairs. At the top position, Oregon’s Bella Gamache and Liz Rossi kept their sets close against Katie Hashman and Brecht Piersma from Texas but ultimately lost 21-15, 21-16.

Against UCLA, Oregon also fell 5-0. Gwen Fife and AJ Slojkowski played at the No. 2 spot for the first time this season and built an early lead in their opening set against Ensley Alden and Kaley Mathews of UCLA. Despite leading 17-12, Fife and Slojkowski could not hold off a comeback as Alden and Mathews won in extended play, taking the set 23-21 before closing out the match in straight sets.

Oregon will continue its season at the Mustang Roundup in San Luis Obispo on March 13-14, where they are scheduled to face CSUN, Santa Clara, UC Davis, and host Cal Poly.
