The Oregon beach volleyball team earned a split in two matches on March 14 at the Mustang Roundup in San Luis Obispo, California. The Ducks lost to fourth-ranked Cal Poly but achieved their first-ever victory over CSUN, bringing their season record to 7-10.

This result is significant for the program as it marks a milestone with the team’s inaugural win against CSUN. The Ducks had previously not defeated the Matadors, making this dual victory notable for both players and coaching staff.

In the match against CSUN, Oregon fell behind early after losing at No. 5 pairs. However, Liz Rossi and AJ Slojkowski secured a straight-set win at the top of the lineup to even the score. Daley McClellan and Elsa Snipes followed with another win on court two, giving Oregon a 2-1 lead. Hanna Bjornson and Sofia Taylor then rallied from a set down at No. 4 pairs to clinch the dual victory with an 18-21, 21-16, 15-13 result. Bjornson and Taylor also played a key role in securing Friday’s win against UC Davis.

Earlier in the day, Oregon faced host Cal Poly and was defeated in all five matches by scores that included straight sets across each pairing.

Looking ahead, Oregon will host Portland on Friday, March 20 at Grace Community Fellowship courts in Eugene. The Senior Day doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., with free admission for all fans.
