The Oregon beach volleyball team tied its single-season wins record with a victory over Santa Clara on April 11. The Ducks’ pair of Bella Gamache and Liz Rossi played a key role, securing two wins during the day, including the clinching point against Santa Clara.

This achievement puts Oregon at a 14-13 record for the season after splitting their two matches on Saturday. The team lost to host and 16th-ranked Hawai’i in their second match of the day.

In their opener, Oregon quickly established a lead against Santa Clara, winning the first two points through Landree Coats and Natasha George, followed by Daley McClellan and Elsa Snipes at No. 3 pairs. Santa Clara responded with a win at the fourth spot before Gamache and Rossi secured the overall victory with a close match (21-18, 25-23) over Teagan Wilson and Sammy Wood. Gwen Fife and AJ Slojkowski added another point for Oregon after rallying from behind on court one.

Against Hawai’i, Gamache and Rossi earned Oregon’s only point by winning in three sets (22-20, 16-21, 15-12). Notably, George moved into sole possession of second place in program history with her forty-fourth career dual win. Rossi became just the fourteenth player in program history to reach twenty career wins.

The Ducks are scheduled to play both teams again Sunday beginning at 5 p.m. Pacific Time against Santa Clara.
