The University of Oregon announced on May 10 that its softball team will host an NCAA Regional for the second consecutive season. The Ducks, who earned the No. 14 overall seed, will welcome Idaho State, Saint Mary’s, and Mississippi State to Jane Sanders Stadium from Friday through Sunday.

This event is significant as it marks the sixth straight NCAA Tournament appearance for Oregon under coach Melyssa Lombardi and the program’s 26th all-time participation in the tournament. Last year, Oregon advanced to the Women’s College World Series for the first time since 2018.

Oregon will begin play against Idaho State on Friday at 7 p.m., with Saint Mary’s facing Mississippi State earlier that day at 4:30 p.m. The regional schedule continues through Sunday, culminating in a final matchup to determine which team advances.

The Ducks secured hosting rights after finishing their season with a record of 40-12 and tying for second place in the Big Ten Conference at 20-4. Their final Ratings Percentage Index was nine, with an overall strength of schedule ranked eighth and a non-conference strength of schedule ranked fourth.

Historically, Oregon has performed well against its regional opponents. The Ducks lead their all-time series against Idaho State (10-1), Saint Mary’s (22-4), and Mississippi State (2-0). Tickets for the Eugene Regional will be available to the general public starting Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Looking ahead, fans can expect competitive matchups throughout the weekend as teams vie for a spot in the next round of postseason play.
