Oregon lacrosse will play UC Davis at Papé Field in Eugene on Saturday as part of a seven-game homestand. The Ducks, currently 3-2, are seeking to rebound after their last game and build on recent home success against the Aggies, whom they have beaten in the last two matchups in Eugene. The all-time series stands at 16-9 in favor of Oregon, though UC Davis won the most recent contest between the teams with a 20-15 result last year.
UC Davis enters the game with a 2-3 record after narrowly defeating California 13-12 earlier this week.
The Ducks named four captains for the 2026 season: seniors Anna Simmons and Rachel Pallo, junior Lexi Jenkins, and Avery Young. Simmons tied a program record with seven goals against Stetson last season and is one of only seven players nationally last year to post at least 30 goals, 21 ground balls, and 15 caused turnovers. Pallo set her own program record with 12 draw controls in a win over Columbia and ranks third all-time at Oregon with 178 career draw controls. Jenkins has started every game for Oregon since joining the team and scored her first career goal against Arizona State this season. Young was recognized as a Big Ten Player to Watch before missing most of last season due to injury but returned by scoring twice early in a win over San Diego State.
Anna Simmons has been named Big Ten Midfielder of the Week twice already this season—her second consecutive year earning back-to-back weekly honors. She played a central role in Oregon’s comeback win over Arizona State by scoring three late goals during regulation and then securing victory with an overtime goal from a free-position shot. Simmons has scored at least twice in each of Oregon’s five games so far this year. She was joined by Jenkins and Gabby Santucci on the Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch list.
Oregon’s offense has seen contributions from fifteen different players this season, including eight who have scored multiple goals. Simmons leads with twelve goals through five games; Emma Ing and Gabby Santucci have ten each. Ing recorded six goals against San Diego State—the highest single-game total for any Duck this season. Lyla Hurley notched a hat trick versus Eastern Michigan, bringing her total to four goals alongside Liv Kozitza. Freshmen Nya McElroye and Caitlin Beckman both found the net early in their collegiate careers.
Goalkeeper Kate Shields made an impact by recording ten saves—including three in overtime—in Oregon’s opening win over Arizona State after entering at the start of the second quarter. Her performance was just one save shy of her career high set previously against San Diego State. Shields started each of Oregon’s next four games, tallying 28 saves overall with a .468 save percentage—ranking sixth among Big Ten goalkeepers.
