Oregon lacrosse will begin a seven-game homestand at Papé Field in Eugene on Thursday, February 19, facing the California Golden Bears. The Ducks have started their season with three straight wins and aim to maintain their unbeaten record at home.

Under head coach Jessica Drummond, Oregon has opened 3-0 for the third consecutive year. After two victories in San Diego, the team returns to host California, a former Pac-12 opponent. Oregon leads the all-time series against Cal 10-8; however, Cal won their last meeting in Berkeley in 2025. Oregon’s most recent win over Cal was at Papé Field in 2022.

The Ducks announced four captains for this season: seniors Anna Simmons and Rachel Pallo, junior Lexi Jenkins, and Avery Young. Simmons tied the program record with seven goals against Stetson last year and was recognized as Big Ten Midfielder of the Week for back-to-back weeks this season. “Simmons was named the Big Ten Midfielder of the Week each of the first three weeks of the 2025 season.” Pallo set a program mark by averaging nearly four draw controls per game and holds third place all-time at Oregon with 177 total draw controls.

Jenkins has started every game since joining Oregon and recently transitioned from defense to midfield, scoring her first career goal against Arizona State. Young returned from injury this year and scored twice early in a win over San Diego State.

Thirteen players have scored goals so far this season for Oregon. Anna Simmons and Emma Ing lead with eight goals each; Ing scored six times against San Diego State—just one shy of tying a school record. Newcomers Nya McElroye and Caitlin Beckman also contributed early-season goals.

Goalkeeper Kate Shields made key contributions during an overtime victory over Arizona State by recording ten saves after entering in the second quarter—a figure just short of her career best from last year—and followed up with strong performances in subsequent games.
