The Oregon men’s golf team advanced three spots on the leaderboard after shooting a 10-over 294 on May 19 during the second round of the NCAA Columbus Regional. Three of Oregon’s four scoring golfers improved their scores from the first round, while the fourth matched his opening-round performance.
The windy conditions at OSU Golf Club challenged much of the field, with only four out of seventy-five players finishing under par for the day. Aiden Krafft, Ramil Saelim, and Casper Nerpin each posted matching scores of two-over-par 73, maintaining consistency by carding one-over-par on both front and back nines.
After a difficult finish in Monday’s opening round, Oregon responded with a steadier performance Tuesday. In particular, Krafft, Saelim, and Nerpin combined for just one bogey over their final five holes. The Ducks handled challenging wind and tough scoring conditions to settle into a strong rhythm down the stretch. Krafft and Saelim each had just one bogey over their last nine holes; Nerpin and Tim Chang recorded two bogeys but also found birdies on the par-5 fifth hole.
Their resilience helped Oregon move up both individual and team leaderboards ahead of Wednesday’s final round. The Ducks now sit eighth out of thirteen teams with a cumulative score of +26 (300-294). Atop the standings is national No. 2 seed Florida Gators at seven-under-par, followed by Memphis (+9), Stanford (+13), Arizona State (+15), and Long Beach State (+20). The top five teams will advance to the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship.
With only eighteen holes remaining in regional play, Oregon faces an uphill climb but remains within six strokes of fifth place—the cutoff for advancement—and aims to return to nationals for the first time since 2023.
The Ducks begin their third-round tee time at 5:25 a.m. Pacific Time Wednesday from hole one alongside Illinois State and California. Live scoring will be available through Clippd Scoreboard.
