The Oregon men’s golf team is in second place after the second day of play at the Bandon Dunes Championship, held at Pacific Dunes. The Ducks are ten strokes behind the leader and have maintained their position as reigning tournament champions going into the final round.
This event is significant for Oregon, as they opened with a 16-under 268 on Sunday, matching the seventh-lowest round to par in program history. The home-state teams are well ahead of the rest of the field, leading SIU Edwardsville and Seattle by eleven strokes.
Ramil Saelim leads Oregon’s lineup after finishing his second round with an eagle, ending two under par for the day and tying for third individually. Freshman Oscar Lent, competing as an individual, also shares third place with Saelim at six under par for the tournament. “After the Ducks opened the tournament with the seventh-lowest round to par in program history, the reigning tournament champions were able to maintain their second place standing during day two,” according to a statement from Oregon Athletics.
Aiden Krafft remains fifth on the leaderboard following a strong opening round of 66 and an even-par performance on Monday. Jeffrey Kwak sits just behind him in eighth place. Casper Nerpin and Sebastian Desoisa rounded out Oregon’s counting scores for this round. Among individual competitors, Lent matched Saelim’s six-under total with consistent rounds of 68 each day.
Other notable performances include Kyreece Romero improving his score from Sunday and recording six birdies—the most by any Duck in this round—while Teddy Vigna finished three strokes better than his previous outing. The Ducks lead all teams on Par 4s and have recorded more birdies than any other school through two rounds.
The final round will begin Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time.
