Oregon lost to Wisconsin by a score of 4-0 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium on March 27, after falling behind in doubles and failing to recover in singles play.

The match was decided when Wisconsin won the doubles point and then secured three straight-set victories in singles competition. The result leaves Oregon looking for answers as several matches went unfinished once the overall team result was determined.

Matthew Burton and Pierre Mouesca earned Oregon’s only win of the day, defeating Oliver Olsson and Tomas Zlatohlavek in doubles. However, Wisconsin took the other two doubles matches, giving them an early advantage that set the tone for the rest of the contest.

In singles action, Ferdinand Kloesters defeated Sam Olszakowski, Tomas Zlatohlavek beat Lachlan Robertson, and Sachiv Kumar overcame Russell Soohoo—all in straight sets—to clinch victory for Wisconsin. The remaining singles matches involving Vlad Breazu, Pierre Mouesca, and Matthew Burton were not completed after Wisconsin secured enough points for the team win.

The Ducks will look to regroup as they continue their season following this defeat.
