Oregon’s softball team secured an 11-3 victory over Oregon State on Wednesday night at Kelly Field in Corvallis. The game was marked by strong offensive performances from Stefini Ma’ake and Elon Butler.

Ma’ake hit two home runs, including a pinch-hit three-run homer in the fifth inning and a solo shot in the seventh. Butler contributed with her second grand slam in less than a week, giving Oregon a 6-0 lead early in the game. She finished with six RBIs, matching her career best.

Coach Melyssa Lombardi commented on the team’s performance: “I’ve been asking them to release the power. You could see our lineup passing the bat all day. I thought Ayanna was unbelievable.

“Elon – we needed someone to break through and she comes through with a grand slam. Watching Stef come in, pinch-hit and hit a bomb. I just think it’s infectious. These guys are going a great job swinging the bat.”

Ayanna Shaw led off for Oregon, going 4-for-4 with two runs scored and one stolen base.

Butler described her approach at the plate: “I trust myself,” she said. “I trust my preparation. I’ve been playing this game for a long time and I just kind of tell myself, I’m that girl. I can do whatever I want to do.”

Pitcher Lyndsey Grein started for Oregon, allowing three runs on five innings pitched while striking out nine and walking three batters.

Ma’ake spoke about her mindset coming off the bench: “Honestly, I think it’s keeping my foot on the gas pedal and knowing when my name is called, I gotta go. It’s huge. This team brings energy. Power has been our thing, so it was bringing all that together today.”

The Ducks improved their record to 14-6 for the season while Oregon State fell to 9-13.

Butler extended her hitting streak to 11 games, tying her previous career high set as a sophomore at California in 2024. She has driven in 20 runs over her last seven games. Shaw matched her own career high with four hits and has now hit safely in six consecutive games.

The top of Oregon’s batting order—Shaw, Kaylynn Jones, and Butler—combined for eight hits and seven RBIs during the game.

Oregon will next host the Jane Sanders Classic from Friday through Sunday against opponents including Oregon State, Nevada, and Sacramento State.
