The University of Oregon announced on Apr. 15 that it will host No. 23 Washington and celebrate the 60th anniversary of its softball program, as well as ten seasons at Jane Sanders Stadium, this coming weekend. Nearly 100 alumni and their families are expected to attend the festivities at The Jane.
The celebration marks a significant milestone for Oregon’s softball program, which has seen considerable growth over six decades. On Friday night, the Sanders Family will be recognized for their support of Oregon softball. Saturday’s events include an on-field ceremony honoring all alumni in attendance following the game.
Senior pitcher Lyndsey Grein was recently named D1 Softball National Pitcher of the Week and Big Ten Conference Pitcher of the Week after leading Oregon to a road sweep against Maryland. This is her third career Big Ten honor and first in 2026. Grein posted a record of three wins with a 0.93 earned run average over fifteen innings pitched during the series, allowing just two runs on seven hits while striking out twenty-five batters and walking only two.
Oregon currently ranks No. 13 in RPI rankings and has achieved sixteen come-from-behind victories this season while playing one of the most challenging schedules nationally—ranked twenty-second in difficulty—with thirty-one out of thirty-eight games played against teams in the top seventy-five RPI.
Elon Butler broke both school and Big Ten records with six hits against Iowa earlier this month, leads the conference with sixteen doubles, and is eighth nationally in that category. Emma Cox and Stefini Ma’ake also contributed significantly during last week’s series at Maryland by accounting for more than half of Oregon’s twenty-one runs batted in (RBI) and three out of four home runs hit by the team.
