The Oregon women’s golf team ended its 2025-26 season on May 13 with a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Waco Regional, missing out on advancing to the NCAA Championships. The Ducks, ranked No. 8, entered the final round in fourth place but dropped to seventh after shooting a 6-over-par 286 at Ridgewood Country Club.
Only the top five teams from the regional advanced to the championships. Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M, Baylor, Louisiana State University and Tennessee earned those spots. Tennessee secured the last qualifying position by edging out Tulsa in a playoff and finishing two strokes ahead of Oregon.
Junior Kiara Romero led Oregon with a final-round score of one-under-par 69 and tied for third overall at five-under for the tournament. However, she missed an individual qualifying spot by one stroke behind TCU’s Kirstin Angosta. Freshman Sophie Han shot an even-par round and finished tied for fifteenth overall.
Oregon competed closely with Tennessee and Tulsa throughout the final day but was unable to keep pace during late-round surges from both teams. The Ducks were inside the cut line for much of play before three birdies by Tulsa in their closing holes and a bogey by Oregon left them two strokes short of advancing.
Romero completed her junior year with twenty-one par-or-better rounds in twenty-four attempts this season and has seventy-one such performances over her career. Han wrapped up her freshman campaign with thirteen par-or-better rounds as well as a tie for fifteenth place in this event.
As noted in team statistics, Oregon led all teams with one hundred eighty-nine pars during regional play but ranked eighth in total birdies made.
