The Oregon women’s golf team finished third at the Chevron Silverado Showdown in Napa, Calif., according to an April 8 announcement. All five players in the lineup shot under par during Wednesday’s final round, helping the Ducks close their regular season with a score of 9-under 279.
This result extended Oregon’s streak of top-five finishes to 21 tournaments, as they have placed among the top five in every event since the start of the 2024-25 season. The Ducks’ overall performance put them at one-over par for the tournament, trailing only Southern California and Eastern Michigan.
Head coach Derek Radley said, “I’m really proud of the way our team came out and finished this tournament and the regular season today. This week was an opportunity for some other players to step up with Kiara and Karen not here with us, and I thought our girls really seized the moment. This experience is going to be great for them as we go into postseason and figure out who our best five are. Postseason is the most exciting time of year and I can’t wait to see what it has in store for this team.”
Sophomores Tong An and Annika Ishiyama each posted a score of three-under-par (69), leading a lineup that included strong performances from freshmen Sophie Han (70) and Shyla Singh (71), as well as junior Darae Chung (71). All five golfers finished within the top thirty individually.
Oregon competed without juniors Kiara Romero and Karen Tsuru, who had recently participated in another major amateur event. Despite their absence, Radley said other players stepped up during this tournament.
Looking ahead, Oregon will begin its postseason campaign at the Big Ten Championships scheduled for April 24-26 in Glendale.
