The Oregon women’s lacrosse team is set for its first road trip of the season, traveling to San Diego for two games. The Ducks will play Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) in a neutral-site match on Saturday, February 14 at Aztec Field. This will be the first meeting between the two teams. Oregon will then face San Diego State on Monday, February 16, marking their 13th matchup in program history. In their last encounter, Oregon defeated San Diego State 17-16 in Eugene.

Oregon began its 2026 season with an overtime victory against Arizona at Papé Field. The Ducks overcame a five-goal deficit after the first quarter. Kate Shields entered as goalkeeper in the second quarter and made seven saves during regulation play. Gabby Santucci contributed four goals to help spark the comeback, while Anna Simmons added three goals during a six-goal run that tied the game late in regulation. Shields made three more saves in overtime, finishing with ten total saves. Simmons scored the winning goal on a free-position shot with fifteen seconds left in overtime.
Ahead of this season, Oregon named four captains: seniors Anna Simmons and Rachel Pallo, junior Lexi Jenkins, and Avery Young. Simmons tied a program record with seven goals against Stetson last year and was named Big Ten Midfielder of the Week for three consecutive weeks to start the 2025 season. Pallo recorded 86 draw controls last year—second most for a single season at Oregon—and matched her own record with twelve draw controls against Columbia.
Oregon’s performance has been closely linked to Pallo’s contributions; last season, when she had six or more draw controls, Oregon won five out of seven games but went one-for-eight when she had fewer than six.
Jenkins moved from defense to midfield this year after starting 32 straight games and scoring her first career goal against Arizona State last season.
Anna Simmons recently earned Big Ten Midfielder of the Week honors following her performance against Arizona State: “The Washington native scored three goals to cap the Ducks’ 6-0 scoring run at the end of regulation play and then secured the sudden-death win for Oregon, netting her fourth score off a free-position shot with 15 seconds on the clock in overtime.” She joins Jenkins and Santucci on this year’s Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch list.
Santucci scored fifteen goals over five games as a sophomore before an injury ended her season early; she led all freshmen at Oregon with six goals during her debut year.
Kate Shields’ role as goalkeeper was key in securing Oregon’s opening win; she finished just one save short of her career high from last year’s match against San Diego State.
