The No. 7 Oregon women’s golf team will participate in the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational for the second consecutive year, starting with 36 holes of stroke play on Monday, March 23. The event takes place at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, and features a competitive field of 13 teams, including six ranked in the top ten.
This tournament is significant as Oregon aims to continue its strong spring season after finishing third earlier this month at the Game Above Sports Invitational. The Ducks have maintained a streak of 19 consecutive top-five finishes dating back to the first event of the 2024-25 season.
Oregon’s lineup for the invitational includes Kiara Romero, Sophie Han, Tong An, Darae Chung, and Shyla Singh. Sophomore Annika Ishiyama will make her debut for Oregon as an individual competitor. The field also features top-ranked teams such as Stanford (#1), Texas A&M (#3), Texas (#5), Auburn (#6), Wake Forest (#9), and Duke (#11).
Live scoring for the event will be available on Scoreboard Live, with updates provided on Twitter at @OregonWGolf. In their previous outing at the Game Above Sports Invitational, Oregon placed third despite missing star junior Kiara Romero in the opening round due to illness. Darae Chung and Sophie Han each shot a 3-under 69 in that round, while Romero returned to shoot par or better in each of her final two rounds.
Romero recently made history by winning her fifth career tournament title at the Chevron Collegiate, breaking the program record previously held by Kendra Little. She finished 11-under par for that week and led with 18 birdies. Romero is recognized as one of Oregon’s greatest players and currently holds a scoring average of 69.60 this season.
As Oregon prepares for another challenging tournament against some of the nation’s best teams, all eyes will be on whether they can extend their top-five streak and build on recent successes.
