The University of Oregon women’s tennis team continued its strong start to the season by winning both matches in a Saturday doubleheader against UC Riverside and Seattle U at the Student Tennis Center. The Ducks secured identical 4-0 victories in each match, extending their winning streak to four and maintaining an undefeated record at home.

With these wins, Oregon improved to 7-1 overall and 6-0 in Eugene for the spring season. Five of those home victories have come by way of a sweep. Freshman doubles partners Hadley Appling and Virginia Crocker won both their matches on Saturday, bringing their dual record to 5-0. Bridget Mihulka also stayed unbeaten in singles play this spring, taking both her matches to reach a 7-0 mark.

The Ducks finished the day with a combined 4-1 record in doubles and went undefeated across six completed singles matches. Their team dual doubles record now stands at 14-4, while they have posted a combined singles mark of 29-4 this spring.

In the first match against UC Riverside, Oregon received straight-set singles wins from Crocker, Patsy Daughters, and Mihulka to secure the sweep. In the evening contest versus Seattle U, Tilde Jagare, Hinata Furutani, and Mihulka earned points for the team with straight-set victories.

Jagare improved her individual record to 5-1 while playing at the top spot in the lineup. Crocker is now 5-1 this season at No. 3 singles. Furutani has begun her freshman campaign with a perfect 4-0 singles record, and sophomore Daughters moved to 4-1.

Oregon will next compete in the Red-Blue Invite starting Friday in Tucson, Arizona. Over two days, they are scheduled to face Grand Canyon University, Denver University, and host Arizona.
