The Oregon women’s tennis team secured a 4-2 victory over No. 41 Iowa on March 20, ending a challenging run of eight consecutive matches against ranked opponents at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center.

This win marks the Ducks’ highest-ranked triumph of the season and brings their record to 11-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play. The result also avenges a narrow loss to Iowa from the previous season.

Oregon started strong in doubles after dropping the first match, rallying to win the next two and claim the doubles point. Tilde Jagare and Olivia Symons defeated Iowa’s top-ranked pair, earning their second win over a ranked doubles team this season. In singles, four out of six matches went to three sets, with Oregon winning three of those contests. Hinata Furutani tied the match with a comeback victory on court five, while Patsy Daughters added another point at No. 4 singles after losing her first set. Bridget Mihulka clinched the overall win for Oregon with her performance at No. 6 singles.

Mihulka now leads the team with a 12-2 singles record this season, while both Daughters and Furutani improved their spring records to 7-4. As a team, Oregon holds a combined dual singles record of 47-21 and has gone 27-10 in doubles play.

The Ducks will conclude their Midwest trip with a match against Nebraska scheduled for Sunday.
