Eugene Police Department issued the following announcement on Apr. 8.
Back in December of 2019 Sharon Eigner, currently age 54, agreed to meet and sell heroin to SCU officers. She requested the meeting to occur at 1160 Oak Street, First Christian Church, where she was a volunteer. Eigner was found to be in possession of individually packaged amounts of heroin with customer name labels on them. From there, officers applied for and were granted a search warrant for her residence and located additional evidence of narcotics delivery, shipping marijuana out of state and further evidence showing her association with a group of drug dealers.
Eigner was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance Heroin, Possession of a Controlled Substance Heroin, Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine. Additional drugs located included codeine, methadone, suboxone, psilocybin mushrooms and various other schedule IV pills. Case number 19-21016. She was ultimately convicted for Unlawful Delivery of Heroin.
Fast forward to 2022, SCU officers learned Eigner has continued selling various Schedule IV & V controlled substances as well as possessing firearms. SCU was able to locate her new residence, which was provided to her by a well-meaning Eugene resident, free of charge. SCU was granted a search warrant for her new residence, car, and storage unit.
Eigner was contacted during a traffic stop and it was found she had a child passenger. She resisted officers’ efforts to get her out of the car and had to be assisted out of the vehicle so she could be taken into custody. The child was not injured during the traffic stop and arrest. Officers located drug paraphernalia as well as quantities of methamphetamine and heroin in her vehicle. During the search of her residence, two firearms were recovered, additional quantities of methamphetamine, several hundred various Schedule IV and Schedule V pills were located.
In her storage unit, officers located even more methamphetamine, prescription pills, and a stolen electric bicycle (EPD case 21-06839). In total officers seized over 3-1/2 pounds of methamphetamine, .6 grams heroin, over 700 pills of various schedules, packaging materials, digital scales, 2 firearms, and a stolen bicycle.
Eigner was lodged at the Lane County Jail for Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Schedule IV and V, Felon in Possession of a Firearm X2, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine (Commercial), Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (Commercial), Child Neglect I, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, and Resisting Arrest.
Eugene Police Street Crimes Unit
The SCU has been focusing on prolific offenders, who are identified through intelligence-based policing, public tips and other sources. They have been proactively responding across the city to quality of life issues as they arise, using all available resources and partners such as community groups, neighborhood associations and city services. SCU is dedicated to targeting immediate and acute community safety system issues while working toward mission-critical enhancements that need to be addressed through a longer-term and broader community safety initiative. The unit currently consists of a lieutenant, a sergeant and five officers, including one officer with a drug detection K9.
