Police

At 1:45 p.m. on April 19, multiple callers began reporting a woman was being assaulted by a man inside a sedan. The woman is reported to have attempted to get out of the vehicle at E. 11th Avenue and Patterson Street, but the man pulled her back in. Central Lane 911 continued to respond to calls and monitor the incident while Eugene Police units responded to look for the vehicle.

The two involved individuals ended up first at Mount Pisgah, where the woman was able to get out of the vehicle but was then assaulted by the man and then pulled back into the sedan. A bystander subsequently reported the couple were located at Jasper Market and a Eugene Police officer arrived on scene and began giving commands to the man, later identified as Fred Allan Miller Jr., age 44, of Oakridge. Other EPD and Lane County Sheriff’s Office units arrived and Miller was taken into custody without incident.
