City of Springfield issued the following announcement on May 9.
Join Upstart Crow at Springfield Public Library at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14 for a special, free performance of Could You Hug a Cactus?, which is based on a collection of whimsical poems by Phillip Van Wagoner. A musical revue that follows a group of kids as they come together to create a show that is bursting with poems and creativity. One by one, they each share their imaginative creations, until a nervous performer panics and refuses to contribute a poem. Can the cast help him shed self-doubt and ignite a creative spark?

Get a CLUE at SpringFilm
One movie with three endings? Enjoy a free showing of ‘CLUE’ at SpringFilm, at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 19 in the Wildish Community Theater. In this black comedy mystery based on the board game of the same name, six strangers (including Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd and Eileen Brennan) are invited to a secluded New England Mansion – where they are given a pseudonym and a weapon by Wadsworth the butler (Tim Curry). Soon bodies start turning up as more and more secrets are revealed before the audience is treated to not one, but three alternate endings of who killed whom in which room and with what! Masks are not required to attend this showing but are welcome.
Starring Tim Curry, Eileen Brennan and Christopher Lloyd, directed by Jonathan Lynn; 94 minutes; Rated PG (1985).
