The Housing Needs Analysis project spans both the Cities of Oakridge and Westfir. The Advisory Committee will be advising on behalf of both cities but individual members do not need to represent both. We would like representation from each city present on the Advisory Committee.

The HNA Advisory Committee is a project advisory committee that will be facilitated by city staff and will support the project by providing input on the project. The Advisory Committee will be composed of community stakeholders who will provide feedback on HNA deliverables and strategy. This vacancy is open to the public/community members in Oakridge and Westfir.

It is anticipated that the Advisory Committee will meet during the following times:

  1. Mid-late June, 2022
  2. Late August/early September, 2022
  3. Early November, 2022
Members are asked to be present at all three committee meetings, which will be scheduled with individual member’s schedules taken into consideration.

Term & Responsibilities:

Term: duration of the HNA project, expected May-November, 2022

Member Responsibilities:

  • Members will attend all committee meetings, review prior meeting minutes and materials/deliverables created by the consult, and complete any tasks that may have been assigned.
  • Meetings will be 1-2 hours in duration and can be attended in person or virtually.
  • The time commitment per month varies on the stage of the project, but members can anticipate spending 1-5 hours per month when meetings are scheduled.
  • It is essential that members have time to thoroughly review materials in advance of meetings and come prepared to share feedback and ask questions at meetings.
  • In addition to the Advisory Committee meetings, each member will be asked to participate in one, 1 hour meeting with city staff before the first committee meeting to discuss the HNA project, timeline, Advisory Committee responsibilities and any questions that arise.
Ideal Candidate: An ideal candidate for the Housing Need Analysis Advisory Committee is someone who is passionate about finding creative housing solutions for our community, who has time to thoroughly prepare for meetings and review materials, who works well in small teams, is an effective communicator, and follows through on tasks. You do not need any formal background, training, or experience in housing issues to be a valuable member of this committee.

Desired Skills: 1) written and verbal communication, 2) knowledge of/interest in housing issues and policies, zoning codes, development, etc., 3) familiarity with Microsoft Office/Google Suite/word processing.
