City of Eugene issued the following announcement on June 1.
Free activities from June 1 through Aug. 31
The whole community is invited to join Eugene Public Library for Summer Reading from June through August for free fun and learning. Everyone's welcome from babies to grown-ups at the library's three locations: Downtown, Bethel and Sheldon.
Children and teens get to choose a free brand-new book to keep. Adults get a free library logo tote bag.
All ages can play this year's Summer Reading Adventure Card with spaces for Read, Create and Explore. Each player fills in the blanks with the new things they read, make, try or learn all summer. Pick up an Adventure Card at the library or print from the library website: eugene-or.gov/library.
Each Adventure Card includes a free raffle ticket. Enter once per person for a random chance to win gift cards from a wide range of local businesses and organizations.
Plus join in free activities in person and online, indoors and outside, including storytimes, book groups, performances, workshops and the annual Teddy Bear Picnic.
Library cards are not required to participate in Summer Reading. To use full library services, including borrowing, Eugene Public Library cards are free for everyone who lives within City of Eugene limits, as well as for all Eugene School District 4J and Bethel School District students regardless of address.
