All are welcome to attend the Eugene Riverfront Festival (https://www.eugeneriverfrontfestival.com/) , July 15-24 at the new Downtown Riverfront Park! The Eugene Riverfront Festival will be a never-before-experienced city celebration as Eugene welcomes the world for the World Athletics Championships Oregon22 (https://worldathletics.org/competitions/world-athletics-championships/oregon22). Hosted by the City of Eugene and produced by REVERE Event Experience, this FREE Festival will be the place for fans to gather and experience the excitement of this once-in-a-lifetime event!
"We are excited to welcome the community, visitors and world to Eugene and the Riverfront Festival" said City Manager Sarah Medary. "This will be the only free and accessible opportunity to celebrate the diversity of cultures that make up Eugene as the World Athletics Championships take place in a U.S. city for the very first time. The Eugene Riverfront Festival is the place to be!”
The festival will include food, music, and art from local vendors, a livestream of WCH Oregon22 events at Hayward Field, a kids zone, and more from Oregon and around the world.
Festival merchandise (https://threadbare.printavo.com/merch/eugene-riverfront-festival/) ordered by July 3 will be available for pickup at the festival beginning July 15. Merchandise can also be ordered during the festival, but orders made after July 3 will only be available for pickup or shipping after the event. Every purchase supports Native American Student Associations at the University of Oregon and Lane Community College.
Park Closure and Detours
As festival site preparations begin, the Downtown Riverfront Park will be closed to the public starting Tuesday, July 5. Early closure of the park is required for safe and secure festival setup. Fencing will be placed around the perimeter of the festival footprint.
The Ruth Bascom Riverbank Path will be closed between the EWEB building on the north end of the festival footprint to where 8th Ave. meets Hilyard St. on the south end. A pedestrian and two-way protected bike detour will reroute path users along Hilyard St. to 6th Ave. to High St. and then to 4th Ave. where it will reconnect to the path near the DeFazio bridge. Colorful arrows on the ground will lead people through the detour.
