Faculty members, staff and students are required to redeem a new code for their bus pass in the Umo app for the 2022-23 academic year to ride the Lane Transit District bus at no cost.
Those with an existing pass in the app can redeem the new benefit code at any time before the current one expires Sept. 18. Instructions are available in the parking portal of the Transportation Services website.
The Umo app will not send a notification that the previous code has expired. Last year the app replaced the UO ID card as access to the bus.
“Even if you don’t regularly ride the bus, it’s a good idea to download the app and redeem your benefit code. That way you will always have the pass in your pocket when you need it,” said Josh Kashinsky, active transportation coordinator.
“The Umo app also has all of the bus routes and schedules, so you can find the closest stop and when the next bus is coming from anywhere in Eugene and Springfield,” he said.
For those unable to use the Umo app, a benefit code can be redeemed on a TouchPass tap card, which can be obtained at the Transportation Services office or at ID Card Services office in the Erb Memorial Union. Active TouchPass cardholders can redeem the benefit code with their current card.
Employees who drive to campus are reminded to select a new parking permit for fall term. Bicycle registration with the UO is required for everyone who bikes on campus. Several options for secure bicycle parking are available.
