The City Council has selected and are scheduled to interview 5 applicants for the Ward 7 Interim City Councilor position. The interviews will be conducted during a Special Meeting on Monday, December 5 at 5:30pm.
This special meeting of the Eugene City Council will be available for community members to watch live or later on the City’s website or on Metro Television, Comcast channel 21.
The City of Eugene received 10 applications for the appointment of Ward 7’s Interim City Councilor. The City Council plans to appoint an interim councilor by the end of the year and the next steps are scheduled:
December 5: Special Meeting to conduct interviews.
December 8: Council nomination ballots due.
December 12: Council meeting/action to confirm appointment of interim councilor.

The person appointed will serve until a successor, duly elected in May of 2023, takes office in July of 2023. The successor, elected in May of 2023, will serve out the remainder of the current City Council, Ward 7 term (01/2021-01/2025).
