Eugene’s Community Court program has a new Provider Room that is open to anyone in the community who needs help accessing local service providers. The Community Court Provider Room is open every Wednesday from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on the first floor of the Municipal Court building at 1102 Lincoln St.
“Our new provider room provides a better space that is designed specifically for the purpose of connecting people with local service providers, whether they need housing, help getting new identification cards, mental or physical health care, and more,” said Sarah Callegari, Court Operations Supervisor. “Additionally, this new room celebrates connection and interwoven relationships with a beautiful new mural by Jessilyn Brinkerhoff. Jessilyn included Community Court participants, City staff, and service providers in the process, making the mural itself a representation of community and relationships.”
The Community Provider Room includes the following service providers: Community Supported Shelters, Emergence, Fuse, Goodwill, Ideal Options, Lane County Behavioral Health, Looking Glass, Restored Connection Peer Support, Melinda Hernandez (SSI), Veteran’s Administration, White Bird Clinic, Willamette Family Treatment Services, the Eugene Mission, and Hourglass.
The City of Eugene Community Court is a collaborative response to local concerns regarding public safety. Public safety representatives, community members, and service providers work together to address the underlying challenges that may lead to criminal behavior and give the justice system meaningful options to handle lower-level offenses. Community courts are founded on evidenced-based practices, problem-solving, accountability, community engagement, and alternatives to incarceration.
