The Eugene City Council appointed Christopher (Chris) Hazen as one of two Eugene citizen representatives on the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission (MWMC).

Hazen’s appointment fills the vacancy after former Commissioner Walt Meyer departed in November 2022.

“Walt served on the commission for 25 years and we are incredibly thankful for his years of service,” Michelle Miranda, Eugene Wastewater Division Director said. “We appreciate Chris’ willingness to step up as the next Eugene citizen representative. His experience will bring great value to the governance, and I look forward to working with him.”

Hazen’s past work experience includes evaluation of water and wastewater facilities around the world. He has previously served on the Lane County Budget Committee, as well as the Lane County Transportation Advisory Committee.
