The one-day closure provides staff with training opportunities; online services will remain uninterrupted.
All three Eugene Public Library locations will be closed Thursday, May 18 for a staff development day. This one-day closure will provide invaluable training and planning opportunities that aren’t possible during regular operations and allow the library's dedicated team to engage in meaningful discussions and explore innovative ideas to enhance services.
"We never like to close our doors for even a day,” Library Director Will O’Hearn said. “But as library services evolve and Eugene's needs change as well, it's crucial every once in a while for our whole team to get together to learn, connect across workgroups and strategize to best serve our community."
While the physical library locations will be closed, the library will continue to provide uninterrupted online services 24/7. This includes access to cardholder accounts, the library catalog, eBooks, audiobooks, streaming content and more at eugene-or.gov/library.
For more information, please contact Eugene Public Library at 541-682-5450 or visit the library's website.
